Intention is so important, especially as it relates to bodhichitta and walking the path of the bodhisattva. You just gave me an idea for another post - exploring the six perfections or the practices of a bodhisattva.
Thanks for this reminder Charles- to use a loving heart and patience in amongst life's messy bits. I'll share a link to this piece in my next round up newsletter.
Thank you for this, Chuck. Romantic love is a subject that takes great skill to explore. Your words are very inspiring. Would it be possible for me to be happy for my wife, if she were to tell me she’d met someone who brought her great happiness? No. Not yet anyway! But with loving intention I can move in the direction of a purer happier connection with her.
Brilliant, beautiful post Charles. Resonant with deep, lived truths. Of course, I would say to live from a higher intention one must also be able to know oneself intimately, and that requires self-love and courage to look at, and heal, the shadow. Else we will try to find in another what we lack in ourselves. The tendency will be to fall into projection and/or blame. Self-suffering, as well as the suffering of others, is what must be acknowledged and overcome. It is a fine balance. A dance between worlds.
To truly practice Bodhicitta, intention is essential to cultivate wise action. Thanks for sharing, Charles.

Rob, so great to hear from you, and thanks for your comment!
It’s a tricky balance for sure, but yeah, the intention is key.
In FP last night, Gen Chondzin said, “Little by little we come to deeper understandings.” I found that helpful. To relax into it.
I have to visit Menlha soon and catch one of your classes!
It would be great to see you! Give me the heads up if you plan on coming 😊👍

Agreed. We need time and space to do the inner work. “The dance between worlds.” Love that!
